SEZ-NHK with a one-way clutch
Drive for zip-screens with emergency hand crank
Product information
Innovative awning technology for reliability and convenience
The SEZ-NHK drive is the world’s first solution for opening motorised zip-screens in an emergency.
If zip screens are installed in the secondary escape and rescue route, it must be ensured that they can be opened manually in an emergency (including after a power failure) to clear the way out. The SEZ-NHK is a zip-screen drive with electronic end position adjustment combined with emergency hand crank operation.
The one-way clutch installed between the crank and the rocker bearing ensures that the blind can only be cranked in the correct direction, i.e. upwards. This prevents the fabric and the system from being damaged. When cranking the shutter in the wrong direction of rotation, the force is not transferred by the one-way clutch.
After mechanically cranking the zip screen, the end positions of the SEZ-NHK drive are retained. It only needs to be moved once against the upper stop.
The SEZ-NHK is installed like a regular NHK drive.
Available in BR2 (shaft Ø 45 mm).

PRODUCT BENEFITS
- Emergency operation for zip-screens using a hand crank
- Intuitive operation in an emergency: screens can only be cranked in the UP direction. Cranking DOWN is prevented by the one-way clutch
- Protection against damage thanks to the proven obstacle detection, wind gust detection in the upward direction and anti-freezing protection
- Automatic end position adjustment: Up – down – done!
- “Reversing function”: obstacles are approached three times
- Gentle approach to the box in operation
- Relief of the upper end position
- After mechanically cranking the zip screen, the end positions of the SEZ-NHK drive are retained
Product videos
The problem with zip screen systems is that they can be extended beyond the lower stopping limit when they are being rolled down. This means that when using an emergency hand crank without a one-way clutch, the screen can be wound the wrong way causing the fabric to wind round the shaft in the wrong direction. This can cause significant damage to the system.
The SEZ-NHK with a one-way clutch effectively prevents incorrect operation by only allowing the zip screens to be opened in the correct UP direction and is therefore ideal for safe use in critical areas. The drive features all the functions of the familiar SEZ drive, specially adapted for zip screens, such as automatic end position adjustment, sensitive obstacle detection and wind gust detection, which ensures reliable retraction in the event of a wind alarm.
The emergency operation with the hand crank allows the electric drive to be installed in secondary escape and emergency routes.
