Modern Living Near Ingolstadt: commeo Ensures Convenient Functional Variety
The entire home of a family of four was equipped with SELVE's bidirectional radio technology.
Lüdenscheid | 08-10-2018
SELVE's bidirectional radio technology has made a lasting impression in Großmehring, benefiting both the residents and the implementing SELVE specialist. Over the past year, the house has offered an extremely comfortable and secure system tailored to the family. Nicolas Ledl led the planning and installation, breaking new ground for the Ledl company. "This was our first home fully equipped with commeo. Since then, we almost exclusively use commeo on our projects," reports the junior manager of the company, which has operated from Königsmoos for over 40 years. He received significant support from SELVE field service representative Josef Walter, who provided expert advice during product selection and on-site installation. The entire system was installed and configured in just three days by Ledl's skilled team. "The residents got exactly what they ordered: a state-of-the-art system tailored to their needs," says Nicolas Ledl.
commeo Multi Send as Home Control
Ledl, a long-standing SELVE specialist partner with about 30 employees, installed a wide range of commeo products. A total of 25 SELVE drives/receivers were used for the various shades in the house, including six drives for roller shutters, 17 commeo Receive Connect plug-in radio receivers for Venetian blinds, and two commeo Receive units for integrating skylight shades. Additionally, various commeo controls were utilized, most notably the commeo Multi Send handheld transmitter with a clear display, serving as the central home control for various automation commands.
This compact device provides detailed information about the system's status, ensuring that all shades are properly closed. The bidirectional handheld transmitter features 20 channels and 10 groups, each with its own timer, allowing residents to customize their shading to their daily routines.
Initial Configuration via Laptop
SELVE provides a unique tool for configuring the control system: a free software program available for download. Nicolas Ledl utilized the ConfigTool on his laptop to configure the entire system in Großmehring. "It was all self-explanatory and very simple. First, all drives and receivers were learned and named. Then, following customer preferences, I created specific groups, set timers, and implemented automation commands based on astro times for roller shutters, Venetian blinds, and skylight shading. Additional control functions, such as intermediate positions for the Venetian blinds, were also easy to configure." This allowed the junior manager to quickly and efficiently implement a wide range of automated shading applications, highlighting the significant time savings and professional laptop-based setup.
In summary: "Our customers were completely satisfied with the initial setup." Whether central commands like "leave house," where all shades close simultaneously, individually controlled groups in the living/dining area or upstairs, or automatic control via astro times, every detail of the shading system in this single-family house has been carefully thought out. This also applies to the operation of the Venetian blinds, which automatically adjust their slat orientation at dusk.
Individual Operation as Needed
In addition to the commeo Multi Send as the central home control, other SELVE controls are used for local operation in various rooms and floors. Depending on their needs and preferences, residents can adjust shades in the bathroom, children's rooms, or the dining/living area with five commeo Wall Send wall transmitters and two additional handheld transmitters. With the commeo Wall Send, shades can be moved individually or in groups using up and down buttons. "Central commands can also be easily disabled with a slide switch, allowing shades to be operated manually as needed," explains SELVE field service representative Josef Walter. With the additional handheld transmitters – commeo Send 1 and commeo Send 10 – the family can control roller shutters, Venetian blinds, and skylight shades across multiple rooms and floors at the push of a button.
